The Clean & Clear Plus 520 (CCP520) is the largest filter in the Pentair Clean & Clear Plus line. It uses four cartridges, each 130 square feet, for 520 square feet total. The cartridge is 32 1/16 inches long, the tallest in the family, with the same 7 inch diameter and 3 inch openings as the rest. A housing reading Clean & Clear Plus 520 or CCP520 takes this cartridge.

How to verify this is the right cartridge

Start with the housing label. A tank reading Clean & Clear Plus 520, CCP520, or Pentair 160332 uses this cartridge. On the cartridge, the end cap shows C-7472, PCC130, FC-1978, or the Pentair numbers 178585 or R173578.

By measurement, the CCP520 cartridge is 32 1/16 inches long and 7 inches across, with 3 inch openings at both ends. It is the longest of the four Clean & Clear Plus cartridges, so if yours measures around 32 inches and 7 inches wide, this is the size. The diameter alone will not tell you, since all four sizes share it.

The mistake to avoid is buying by diameter or appearance. Every Clean & Clear Plus cartridge is 7 inches across and looks similar, but the 520 is a foot longer than the 320. A 520 cartridge will not fit a shorter housing, and a shorter cartridge will not seal a 520 tank. Confirm by housing model or by length.
