Unicel C-7472

The Unicel C-7472 is a replacement pool filter cartridge for the Pentair Clean & Clear Plus 520 filter system.

C-7472 is Unicel's part number for the cartridge that fits the Pentair Clean & Clear Plus 520, the largest filter in the line. It is the 520-size member of the same family as the C-7470 (320) and C-7471 (420), sharing the 7 inch diameter but running longest, at 32 1/16 inches, for 130 square feet of media. If your cartridge reads C-7472, the specs and cross-reference below confirm the fit.

How to verify this is the right cartridge

Check the end cap. Unicel prints C-7472 on the cap. If your old cartridge reads C-7472, this replaces it directly, as does any cross-referenced equivalent.

If the printing is gone, measure. The C-7472 is 32 1/16 inches long and 7 inches across, with 3 inch openings at both ends. It is the longest cartridge in the Clean & Clear Plus family, so a length near 32 inches at 7 inches wide identifies the 520 size.

Size confusion is the common error here. All Clean & Clear Plus cartridges share the 7 inch diameter, so the diameter alone will not tell you the size. A C-7472 fits only the 520. Match the housing model or measure the length.
