Pentair Clean & Clear Plus 320
The Pentair Clean & Clear Plus 320 (CCP320) is a cartridge pool filter that uses four 80 square foot cartridges.
The Clean & Clear Plus 320, often written CCP320, is a Pentair cartridge pool filter with 320 square feet of total filtration area. It is the filter housing, the large tank on your equipment pad, not the cartridge inside it. This page covers which cartridge the CCP320 takes and how many, because that is what most people are trying to work out when they look up the filter model rather than a cartridge number.
Which cartridge the CCP320 takes
The Clean & Clear Plus 320 uses the 80 square foot cartridge known as the Unicel C-7470, Pleatco PCC80, or Filbur FC-1976, among other brand numbers. On the Pentair side the single cartridge is R173573 and the complete four-cartridge set is 179134. The filter housing itself is Pentair part 160340 or EC-160340, which is a different number from any of the cartridges and refers to the tank and its assembly, not the replaceable element.
How many cartridges the CCP320 takes
Four. The 320 square feet of filtration is made up of four 80 square foot cartridges sitting together in the one housing. A complete cartridge replacement is all four, which is why the standard order for this filter is a set of four rather than a single. The four total 320 square feet, which is where the model number comes from.
Replacing all four at once keeps them the same age so they load and wear evenly. Mixing a new cartridge with worn ones shortens the life of the new one.

Each of the four cartridges in a CCP320 measures this. Multiply the filtration area by four for the system total of 320 sq ft.
Compatible systems
The same cartridge fits some non-Pentair housings. The Waterway Crystal Water 325 uses this cartridge as well, so owners of that system order the same part. If your housing is a Clean & Clear Plus 320 or a Waterway Crystal Water 325, the cartridge below is correct.
