The Filbur FC-1978 is a replacement pool filter cartridge for the Pentair Clean & Clear Plus 520 filter system.
FC-1978 is Filbur's catalog number for the Clean & Clear Plus 520 cartridge. It shows up on distributor listings and older invoices, the same part as the Unicel C-7472 and Pleatco PCC130. It is the 520 size: 32 1/16 inches long, 130 square feet.

How to verify this is the right cartridge
Filbur prints FC-1978 on the end cap. If your cartridge shows that number, this is a direct replacement, as is any equivalent.
Filbur numbers often appear on paperwork without dimensions. If matching from an invoice, verify against the physical part: 32 1/16 inches long, 7 inches in outer diameter, 3 inch openings at both ends.
Keep the size straight. The Clean & Clear Plus cartridges are all 7 inches across but differ in length. FC-1978 is the 520 size and will not fit a 320 or 420. Confirm by housing model or length.
