Unicel C-7471

The Unicel C-7471 is a replacement pool filter cartridge for the Pentair Clean & Clear Plus 420 filter system.

C-7471 is Unicel's part number for the cartridge that fits the Pentair Clean & Clear Plus 420. It is the 420-size member of the same family as the C-7470 (320) and C-7472 (520), sharing the 7 inch diameter but running longer, at 26 1/16 inches, to hold 105 square feet of media. If your cartridge reads C-7471, the specs and cross-reference below confirm the fit.

How to verify this is the right cartridge

The end cap is the fastest check. Unicel prints C-7471 on the cap. If your old cartridge reads C-7471, this replaces it directly, as does any of its cross-referenced equivalents.

If the printing is gone, measure. The C-7471 is 26 1/16 inches long and 7 inches across, with 3 inch openings at both ends. Length is the deciding dimension in this family: the 320 cartridge is 20 inches and the 520 is 32, all at the same 7 inch diameter, so the length tells them apart.

The common error is size confusion within the Clean & Clear Plus line. A C-7471 will not correctly fill a 320 housing, and a 320 cartridge will not seal a 420 tank. Match the housing model or the cartridge length before ordering.
